blaQballet is an experimental arts and healing initiative created for and by young Queer and Trans Black artists based in New Orleans. In addition to hosting free community dance classes, movement workshops, creative intensives, and social gatherings, blaQballet provides professional performance opportunities to new and emerging Queer and Trans Black artists. Operating from a Black Feminist Praxis, blaQballet centers those who have been refused access to creative space and resources as an act of resiliency, ultimately in promotion of our collective healing, sustainability, and liberation.
