Essential Routes

Research & Development Grant

This project is an ongoing portrait series documenting letter carriers across New Orleans, created through medium-format photographs made along their daily routes. Centering dignity, presence, and the human dimension of essential labor, the work offers an intimate look at the individuals who sustain vital public infrastructure. Developed through direct collaboration with postal workers, the series highlights the strength and resilience of the working-class. The project will culminate in a public exhibition bringing these portraits back into the neighborhoods where they were made.
