In New Orleans’ tricentennial celebration, one neglected story remains that of the immense contributions Latina/no immigrants have made to reconstruction post-Katrina. The exhibition “Hard Living in the Big Easy: Immigrants & Rebirth of New Orleans” offers mixed-media drawings and film installations to challenge this official erasure of brown people. The mixed-media drawings being developed will be part of a fully immersive art installation to include videos from Tshombe Tshanti and an Andean musical soundscape by Roberto Carrillo.
