Artist: Antonia Zennaro, Joseph Moran, & Cecelia Tapplette-Pedescleaux
New Orleans and Baton Rouge, LA
The project is a collaborative effort between visual artists (Joseph Moran and Antonia Zennaro), an indigenous quilt maker (Cecelia Tapplette-Pedescleaux), and individuals from the public affected by last year’s flooding in the greater New Orleans area. The envisioned created work will be a large-scale patchwork quilt that will include photographic images taken by the artists—printed on fabric—of the victims, their families, and of their environment. The resultant work will be a visual record—a shared story—of the disaster and its effects on those whose lives were transformed by it.
