In the summer of 2015, Christopher Staudinger and his father began building the wooden frame for a 16-foot canoe. Since then, they have collected and stretched 39 stories, printed on paper, over the frame like heavy duty papier-mâché to gradually form the hull of the boat. Part sculpture, part community writing project; when complete it will be a fully-functional vessel. Platforms Fund will support community events that will generate writings for the boat, new paper layers, and readings of the stories.
