The Red Flame Hunters tribe has paraded since 2009. Older members of the tribe and adult leaders work eight to twelve months for each Indian between the ages of 3 and 19 to complete an original suit in the historical tradition of the Mardi Gras Indians. Over 25 youth and supporters spend hundreds of hours on each suit so each tribe member has a unique and beautiful design. The tribe meets twice per week to learn the rich history and traditions of Mardi Gras Indian culture and to learn to perform traditional rituals.
