Throughout history, the social dance floor has served as a healing space for and celebration of marginalized communities. It is on the social dance floor that Black, Brown, and queer people heal, shine, and celebrate everything that makes their respective communities brilliantly dope and innovative. This piece seeks to combine dance, projection, and audience participation to illuminate the cathartic escape the dance floor can provide. At times, it is the manifestation of our respective daily struggles. The dance floor in its purest, most sacred form is release. It is a celebration of bodies moving in synchronicity.
